Engine Features and Fittings - The Lucas N1 Magneto

This page details the specification for the popular HT magneto as fitted to the Fowler (and many other) stationary engines.

The N1 is a rotating armature type magneto with stationary magnets, and rotating contact breaker assembly with push button stop on the CB Cap.

Specification (as per the Lucas Magneto Catalogue)

Suitable for: Single, 180o Twin and V Twin, Motor Cycle, Stationary and Marine Engines.

Control: Bowden Wire, Band Lever or Fixed Ignition.

Cam: Flat Face Type N1-0, Ring Type N1L; N2 & NV.

Fixings: Four Hole 1/4" Whitworth, 5/16" deep or slotted base.

Spindle Height: 35mm from Base.

When Ordering: State number of cylinders, fixing, control and required rotation when looking at spindle.
