Generator bought in a rough state having been left in a shed for 10 years and not run during that time. The engine required a full strip down and repaint to bring back to the current condition. It now runs well and even earned its keep supplying power for several days during the 1998 Christmas/January storms by saving a freezer load of food for a friend ! It is nice to put an old engine back to work. The photos shows the engine restored before the generator was connected. This engine is kept mainly as a handy working unit but is also the only diesel engine which we have at the moment. Small air cooled diesels are becoming quite collectable so I will keep this unit meantime.
