Acquired September 2000, as found at the bottom of a field where it had stood since new to pump water from a stream to the farmhouse. The original shed had blown over in a storm many years ago and the set was left to the elements. The engine took a great deal of effort to extract it from the bottom of the field - not helped due to heavy rain, a flooded stream and the tractor getting stuck in the mud! The whole set was at one point left dangling about 6 foot in the air on a chain from the front loader causing the tractor to loose rear traction. We eventually got it up from the field and found it hadn't suffered too much from being airborne and loaded it on the trailer.

The engine has now been stripped, cleaned and rebuilt and is a very good runner, one of the best I have seen in a D type. The pump requires several new parts to be made and the air vessel frost crack to be welded. I plan to exhibit this set as found, there are not many complete original Lister pump sets around. The engine has a casting date of 20/6/50 which ties in nicely with being supplied new to a local agricultural agent on 24/71950 confirmed from the manufacturers sales records.
