A view of the new air valve slide assembly.
The original bottom flange was re-used by cutting off the remains of the old slide.
The flange was then bored out and threaded with a fine thread and the new slide
assembly screwed in place. Apart from a very thin join line the repair is invisible and is
undoubtedly much better than if the original was repaired by soldering.
