A clear view of the skirt crack. A previous attempt has been made to drill the end of the crack to prevent spread.
This will be inspected with an eye glass before any other work is carried out. Although someone has started to drill a
hole, for some reason this was not taken right through the piston. I will finish the 'repair' by drilling right
through which should prevent the crack spreading further while in use. I won't weld the crack as it is
unlikely to spread and haven spoken to several knowledgeable enthusiasts they agree that the piston will be ok.
