This engine was bought from a stall at the Astle Park rally in June 2001 and is shown as found. The engine is a hopper cooled two stroke which were very popular for many direct coupled applications such as air compressors and generators. The WBH range are quite rare compared to the more common 1.5 HP engines, the main difference being the much larger hopper and cylinder bore diameter to give the increased power output. The engine is currently undergoing restoration as the magneto coil has proved faulty. A new coil has been obtained and fitted to the backplace. We are currently awaiting better weather to re-fit the magneto and test it out. Once this has been done the engine will be partially stripped for a repaint and general tidy. I may also consider having the various chrome parts re-chromed if I can find a suitable company to do this at reasonable cost.
