Wolseley WD1 Supplied as part of a milking machine outfit in 1944 this engine was found in 1993 still belted up to the pump in a very bad state of repair. The shed in which the engine was housed had a broken window directly next to engine, as such the hopper was completly rotted as the pictures show. This was repaired using chemical metal and aluminium mesh but 11 years on and many hours of running later the repair is starting to deterioate and now requires a replacement hopper/head which I have been lucky enough to find. Unfortunately I wasn't able to purchase the original pump and base. This engine has been rallied a lot and is very reliable even after not running for 12 months it starts first time. The engine is now due a re-restoration as I have also obtained the correct style of fuel tank which will replace the WD8 version which was fitted to the engine when found. |
