STYLE 3

Not such a good image, the only one available at this time. The Style 3 was introduced as 'the new petrol engine' in 1920 and remained in production until 1925. The major difference between this engine and the earlyer Style 1 & 2 engines is the intruduction of a shorter 'U' tube air pipe mounted horizontally rather than vertically. This brings the carburettor cloase to the engine (still of Wolseley manufacture). The magneto also changes at this time to a Fellows unit and this became the standard until the early engines ceased production. The Style 3 produced 3.5 HP or 5 HP.
Very few of these engines have survived into preservation, the unrestored engine as shown is missing the original carburettor and magneto and requires a full mechanical restoration to bring back into working order.
